Websites vs Blogs<\/strong><\/p>\n

By definition, a website is \u201ca place on the world wide web that contains information about a person, organisation, etc., and that usually consists of many web pages joined by hyperlinks\u201d while a blog is \u201ca website on which someone writes about personal opinions, activities, and experiences.\u201d<\/p>\n

Even installing manually is fairly simple; you\u2019ll need a few things first:<\/p>\n

• Your host\u2019s FTP details (host, user and pass)<\/li>\n
• MySQL database access<\/li>\n
• WordPress installation files<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

  Remove Blog From Menu<\/strong><\/p>\n

  If you do not intend to ever add blog posts to your website, you\u2019ll also want to make sure that \u201cBlog\u201d does not appear in your menu. Do this by going to Appearance > Menus and then removing Blog from the Main Menu. Click Save Menu.<\/p>\n

  Add Static Pages<\/strong><\/p>\n

  Now that your WordPress website has a static home page with no blog displaying, it\u2019s time to add more static pages. Click on\u00a0Pages > Add New\u00a0and create your next page such as \u2018About Us\u2019 or \u2018FAQs\u2019.<\/p>\n

  Give the page an appropriate title and enter your text in the main content editor. Click\u00a0Publish\u00a0once you\u2019re happy with the content.<\/p>\n

  Turn Off Comments<\/strong><\/p>\n

  Finally, you may want to turn off comments. Do this by going to Settings > Discussion and then unchecking\u00a0\u201cAllow Comments\u201d.<\/p>\n
